Make a tea with it and put a compress on the swollen/injured area. If you can get a hold of the whole leaves, just wet them with hot water and wrap the leaf itself around the injury. Comfrey leaves have little prickles that lets them be used like bandages.

i have two 31-yr-old ankles. each sprained once but otherwise in excellent shape. however, i need them both. sorry.

and although i think i made my opinion clear on twitter, i am reassured by violet’s great and all-encompassing wisdom, and glad she is in your life. pet squirrels are NEVER a good idea.

I can’t stand it, it’s so cute!

I once found a little raccoon (let’s call him Fernando) in my very large garbage can. I lifted the lid and there he was, eating whatever was at the bottom of the can. I screamed and closed the lid (RACCOON!) and figured he’d find his way out. Well, the next day (it’s was a freezing-cold January day) I lifted the lid and he was there shivering, looking up at me. Poor little fella. Still though, it’s a raccoon and one must be careful. We devised a plan. My ex ended up grabbing a broom, getting in the car and driving up the driveway to the garbage can. Opening up the window just a little he was able to stick the broom handle out and knock over the can so that little (extremely disoriented) Fernando could run out. Problem solved.
